BT Cotton – Public Interest Law Association of Pakistan v. Federation of Pakistan and others

PILAP has filed a Writ Petition before the Lahore High Court against the Ministry of Climate Change; the National Biosafety Committee; the Pakistan Environment Protection Agency; the Punjab Environmental Protection Department; the Punjab Environment Protection Agency and Croplife Pakistan against the National Biosafety Committee established under the Pakistan Biosafety Rules, 2005 as the Rules are no longer valid after the 18th Amendment devolved the subject of environment upon the Provinces. Since Punjab has enacted its own Biosafety Rules it has been prayed that the Federal Rules be declared to have no legal effect.
