The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Department of the Government of Sindh had been withholding tax token stickers and registration number plates for vehicles despite the tax for the same having been paid by tax payers. On the other hand, the same tax payers were being apprehended and treated as offenders for non-possession of the relevant stickers and number plates by the police. The irony was that during this time the Department continued to purchase the stickers and plates from vendors and yet failed to deliver.
PILAP wrote a letter to the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Department asking the department to look into the matter and take steps for bringing an end to the sufferings of tax payers.
