The number of cases pending before the various courts of Pakistan is excessive, to say the least. In addition to being slow, the judicial system ends up being expensive for litigants. This is despite the fundamental rights enshrined within the Constitution that safeguard the right to a fair trial and equal protection of law for all. PILAP has filed a Constitutional Petition against the Federal Government through the Ministry of Law and Justice, and the respective Provincial Governments of Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan praying for justice to be made inexpensive and expeditious for all citizens without discrimination.
