To Investigate Why So Much Damage Happened In CBD And DHA During Rains

Due to sever urban flooding and failure of DHA sewerage system, the public faced tremendous hardship, lack of movement and loss of precious lives in DHA area in Karachi during monsoon rains in July-August 2020.  https://www.dawn.com/news/1577302

PILAP submitted an RTI #408 to the Clifton Cantonment Board (CBC) and Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on 2nd September 2020 to  know about the building plans, huge money spent on sewerage system, and general mitigation plans for the flooding situation. The DHA did not reply to the RTI.

PILAP made an appeal #430 to the Pakistan Information Commission for assistance in getting information from federal public body DHA.

Pakistan Information Commission in its order on 6th October 2020 advised President DHA for reasons not providing information.

Due to no response from DHA, response to RTI & Order, request of updates from PILAP, PIC issued a show cause notice on 7th July 2021 to President DHA to provide the information ASAP or face “Contempt of the Court” proceedings.

PILAP has again requested PIC to follow up proceedings because DHA has yet not provided any of our questions nor responded to the court order.
