Regulation of Stray Dogs

Every year scores of stray dogs are brutally killed in Karachi alone as a way of regulating their population. This method is not only illegal and inhumane but is also ineffective; despite the killings, stray dog attacks continue on the human population and anti-rabies vaccine has been in short supply in the Province of Sindh. PILAP wrote RTIs to the six Cantonment Boards in Karachi, the Director-General, Military Lands and Cantonments and DHA-Karachi, as well as Karachi Municipal Corporation and the Sindh Government asking about measures taken to control and regulate the stray dog population.
