65th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference

What’s at Stake

The 65th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference took place this summer in Halifax, NS, Canada. It was reported that a 25-member delegation travelled to Canada, accompanied by family members. It was also reported that the delegation stayed at a 5-star hotel and used a limousine for the duration of the trip. In these dire economic times, it is hardly becoming for the Government to be spending on non-essential luxuries.

Current Status

PILAP wrote to the National Assembly to inquire into the matter. We received a response telling us that this was not the case and that in fact, only a two-member delegation had traveled to Canada.
